Hello! My name is Eva and Translation Journeys is a platform where I showcase my love for the Greek language and culture.
My mission as a translator is to help reveal the talents and innovation of contemporary Greek writers and poets by translating and promoting their original work in English.
My work is not bound by its culture, it is free by its very own essence and purpose.

I work collaboratively with authors to produce adapted translations that are authentic and true to the author's essence, tone, voice and style.
The current digital landscape empowers my mission as a translator to help engage and connect authors with new anglophone readers.

MY TRANSLATION BACKGROUND
Eva-Maria Payati Greek to English Literary Translator
After years of working for a sports governing body in England and after having my first child, I decided to change career path and pursue my passion for language and creative writing.
I now hold a BSc in Sport Science from Loughborough University, a BA Hons in French and Spanish and a master's in translation studies from The University of Birmingham.
I am a member of the Society of Authors-The Translators Association, the Institute of Translation and Interpreting and the Emerging Translators Network for literary translators.
Being committed to my continuing professional development, I stay up to date with book trends, language research and the latest events relating to creative writing and literary translation.
